About the Artist

Originally from New York, Carey Berg has lived in Hollywood, FL for the past decade and lived in Southern California for a number of years prior to that.

I was raised by the ocean and have lived my entire life by the sea, both on the east and west coasts.
For the past 10 years, I have been a resident of and maintain studio space in Hollywood, Florida.

I studied Art & Art History at SUNY Albany State University from 1976-1980. After graduating from SUNY, I studied art at both the New School and Art Students League in NY City.

I have sold art pieces at Venice Beach and Brooklyn art shows, street fairs, in restaurants, small storefront galleries, offices and even on the street.

The ocean and protection of this natural resource is near and dear to me and of critical importance to the world. I’ve swum in the ocean since I was barely able to walk and have been a scuba diver for 35+ years. I’ve dived all over the world, mostly in South Florida, the Florida Keys and the Caribbean.

I have made the issue of preserving and restoring the health of the oceans the focus of my artwork.
